With over two decades of breeding experience, Tolcketna Kennels raises Golden Retrievers and Beagles with attention to health, temperament and early socialisation. Based in Welkom and registered with the Kennel Union of Southern Africa (KUSA), we welcome enquiries from families across South Africa and abroad.
Dogs have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. Since establishing Tolcketna Kennels in 2005, that love has grown into a lifelong commitment to breeding Golden Retrievers and Beagles with care, patience and a deep respect for each dog's individual temperament.
For me, responsible breeding begins long before a litter arrives. It means paying close attention to health and temperament, making thoughtful breeding decisions, and giving every puppy the care it needs to grow and develop. Our Golden Retriever studs undergo hip, elbow and genetic testing before breeding, and our females are hip and elbow tested as well. Every litter receives plenty of individual attention and care as the puppies grow.
Raising puppies is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do. I want each puppy to get the best possible start in life and each new owner to feel confident and excited about welcoming their new companion home. I am always happy to share what I have learned over the years, answer questions and offer guidance on caring for your puppy as it grows.

Lucy has been part of our breeding programme and is now looking for a home of her own. She is ready for the quieter rhythm of family life, and we would be glad to tell you more about her.
Responsible breeding is about more than raising a litter. It means making thoughtful decisions about health and temperament, giving puppies the attention they need as they grow, and helping every new owner feel prepared to welcome a puppy into their family.

The health of our dogs is a priority. Our Golden Retriever studs undergo hip, elbow and genetic testing before breeding, and our females are hip and elbow tested. Those results help us make informed decisions about suitable pairings.
We carefully consider the health and temperament of our breeding dogs when planning each litter. Our girls are given time to rest between litters, allowing us to focus on their wellbeing.
Every litter receives daily attention and hands-on care as the puppies grow. We want each puppy to have a happy, healthy start before heading off to its new home.
Choosing a puppy is an exciting experience, and we are happy to help along the way. Whether you are still deciding between breeds or are ready to welcome a puppy home, we are here to answer your questions and help you understand what to expect.
Our relationship with puppy owners does not end on collection day. We are always happy to offer guidance and answer questions about feeding, training and settling your new companion into family life.
Contact us through our website, by phone or on WhatsApp. Tell us which breed you are interested in, and we can chat about available puppies, upcoming litters and any questions you may have.
If there are no puppies available, you can join the waiting list for a future litter. A small fee secures your place, and when a litter arrives, puppy selection takes place in waiting-list order.
Once the litter has arrived and you have chosen your puppy, a 50% deposit secures your reservation. The remaining balance is due on collection in Welkom or before your puppy is handed over for delivery.
You are welcome to collect your puppy in Welkom, or we can help arrange nationwide delivery through a trusted, climate-controlled pet courier. International air transport can also be arranged on request.
